PUBG Mobile tips and tricks: How to survive and win a battle royale

PUBG Mobile is a global sensation. Everybody knows this. But did you know that this widespread mobile game recently breached reached 400 million downloads? PUBG Mobile’s have made a few recent updates to make the game interesting and keep the players hooked to the game.

PUBG Mobile tips and tricks

PUBG is a multiplayer online battle royale game between 100 players. A player who survives until the end is the ultimate winner. Below is a list of some useful tips and tricks that will help you overcome all the obstacles and win the game

Choose where to land very carefully:

One of the safest ways to begin the game is to land in a proper place away from the herd of other players. Avoiding places hit with plaque is also an excellent move. Also, look out for the buildings so that you can grab some loot. The building locations are indicated as white blocks on the mini-map on your mobile.

If you feel you have landed in the wrong location, you can always open your parachute and drift to some other safe place. But make sure to make the decision early as your opponents are in a hurry to grab the loot from you.

Loot first, shoot later

Just remember the one who survives the PUBG game is the winner and not the one who has killed the highest number of opponents. Loot is extremely important since it includes first aid kits, bandages and painkillers.

Also, items like grenades, half-decent weapon, ammo, safety armor are important that can come handy in later stages of the game. Backpack upgrade is also an important loot to pick during the early levels. Also, make sure to use explosives, if necessary to destroy the unsuspecting group early on.

Only shoot when you’re in the range:

Most players in PUBG gets killed because of this reason. Deciding when to hide and when to attack is one of the most tricky things to follow and implement while playing the game. But, one thing is for sure, never fire unnecessarily if your weapon is don’t possess the ability to reach a farther distance.

Shotguns like S12K and SMGs are effective for closer encounters, assault rifles and pistols are useful for mid-range fights whereas sniper rifles are best for long-distance shots.

Keep an eye on the map:

In any game, keeping an eye on the map is crucial. In PUBG, “The Circle” shown on the map is to watch for. If you are in the circle, you are absolutely safe. But, if you are out of the circle for a longer period of time, you will eventually get attacked by the opponent.

One of the most crucial things to note on the minimap is the fire indicator. If there is gunfire around you, just have a look at the map to know the exact location of the firing coming from.

Wheels are better than legs:

Well, this is a common-sense my friend. If you need to travel to a place within a short period of time, get yourself a vehicle. You will find plenty of vehicles littered all around, especially near the larger cities and on the main roads.

Motorcycle and buggy are useful for zipping to the next play location whereas large vehicles like the jeep are useful to carry four people.

Hide and peek:

Hiding behind rocks or the sides of the building for cover is a safer alternative. Keep an eye on your mini-map and the surroundings before making a move in an open place. Also, watch out the floors, for some intelligent players lying down on the floor.

Also, do have a quick look at the Settings > Basic menu. Simply toggle Peek & Fire to “Enable” and you will have a clear glimpse of players hiding in corners.

Communicate with your squad mates

Communication is always important, especially if opponents are huge in number. Having a word with your teammate about the place to land, deciding who takes what loot, picking a target or even deciding who is in charge of the shotgun in a vehicle is a key trick to survive. Attacking in numbers is far safer than fighting individually.

Thankfully, PUBG Mobile allows voice chatting using your device’s speakers and microphone (needs to be enabled in your mobile Settings>Audio). You also have the option of selecting the language. Alternatively, you can also use voice and chat apps like Discord to send quick messages like “Enemies ahead” and “I will cover you”.

Know your maps:

Knowing how to read a map is important to locate different landing and hiding spots. Thorough knowledge of the map increases your percentage of winning. Miramar, Sanhok, and the newly added snow map Vikendi are the latest additions made to the PUBG games.

Play on an emulator:

For those who love to play the game in a bigger screen like desktops, can use the Tencent Gaming Buddy feature. The emulator runs PUBG Mobile for free.

Make use of Royale Pass

Much like Fortnite’s Battle Pass, Royale Pass comes with lots of reward points. The basic version of Royale Pass is free whereas the Elite Royale Pass is chargeable. The higher version Elite Pass Plus costs much more but offers a few useful goodies like an instant grant of 25 ranks.

PUBG Mobile Strategies

Now that you know the tips and tricks to survive the game, let see some of the advanced level strategies to level up fast.

Tweak button sizes:

The default settings and on-screen controls are appropriate for beginners. But, a pro player interested in playing a squad match must have both the peek buttons and trigger buttons close to each other on the right side (for left-handers, keep them on the left side).

The sprint button needs to be kept a little higher than its normal position. Make sure to keep enough room for the thumb to look around and aim properly.

Adjust graphics:

Graphics play a key role in any gaming module. The new 0.10.0 update brings allows you to adjust the screen settings to suit your mobile’s aspect ratio. Normal, 18:9 and Notch are the three options available. Using colorful graphics also help to locate enemies easily.

Make good use of Training ground:

It is always good to try playing the game in the training ground and learn about different kinds of guns and ammo to see which is more effective.

Guns like the AKM has a high damage rate, but also high recoil. So, if you by heart the recoil pattern and master the gun, you will have edge over others.

Land at hotspots that are away from the flight path: Take enough time to learn the map completely before beginning the actual game. Also, make sure to choose the right spot for landing and loot place.

Compensators and Suppressors are better than Flash Hiders: While looting, do look for a compensator or a suppressor which is far more effective than flash hiders. A compensator reduces recoil by 25 percent. Suppressors cloak both the sound and the bullet echo when you fire the gun.

Edge of the circle play: This is perhaps the best way to implement when aiming for a chicken dinner. The trick here is to play along the edge of the blue circle. Since you are at the edge, you can keep an eye on the timer and escape in time when a life-threatening situation occurs.

Also, by wearing a blue costume you can disguise yourself with the blue zone itself, making it harder for the opponent to spot you.

Bridge Block:

This is by far one of the least used strategies in the initial stages of PUBG. Later on, it became an important strategy among players playing in squads.

When you are playing the game collect as many cars as you can to make a bridge and hideout. Yet another hideout option is to stay behind the unusable cars creating a bridge.

Switch to a 4X from a 6X

Having a wider vision of the playing field is always better. The wider the horizon, the better and clearer you can spot the enemies and kill them.

Don’t kill knocked out players immediately: In the advanced stages

When you are playing at an advanced level with just about 40 players left in the game, do not kill them immediately. Use some of them as bait to confuse other players.

Often, the knocked-out player will ask for help from his team members. When they come to revive him, you can kill them with either a grenade or spray an automatic rifle on them.

Divide and Conquer:

It is always better to start as a group. But, once you have looted enough, you can spread in a team of two and ambush other groups.

Use an exploded car for cover

Unusable cars in PUBG are a great hideout spots. See if you can find a bullet-proof car for better protection. But, remember bullet-proof cars are not of use when two or three rounds of 7.62mm bullets are fired at it.

Ditch the car: Driving a car especially in Miramar, where there is an open ground is an ideal option to keep yourself protected from the enemies.

Drop secondary weapons if you’re wearing a ghillie suit

If you’re disguising wearing a ghillie suit, then it is better to drop the it while on Miramar.

Use smoke grenades to create diversions

One of the best ways to create a diversion and escape from a life-threatening situation is to use a smoke grenade.

Carpet bomb enemies out of their hiding spots

Carpet bombs are best prompt the enemies hiding in bushes to come out. As soon as they come out, you can kill them.

Switch to a gun with higher rate of fire

As you nearing the end of the game, use either an UMP9 or an UZI, both of which have a higher rate of fire.
